About MeI hold a diploma in Psychotherapy and an MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute in London. (Validated by Middlesex University.) I am a registered member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and as such I abide by their code of ethics and professional practice. I am appropriately insured and work under regular supervision.
Prior to training as a therapist, I worked in mental health services for the NHS for 12 years, working both in the community and on inpatient wards. My most treasured aspect of this role was developing a relationship with mental health service users. I felt privileged that they trusted me and shared their histories and feelings with me, and I witnessed how this relationship with a compassionate and resilient professional can aid recovery. The importance of that relationship and my desire to understand more about how our histories and experiences shape us was what led me to train as a psychotherapist.
